Walk Through Bethlehem

Our church puts on this Amazing display every year, for the past ten years actually, called
Walk Through Bethlehem, at the beginning of December to kick off the Christmas season.
There are animals, a market place, the manger scene, Roman guards, beggars, food, all in an effort to recreate what Bethlehem was like when Jesus was born over 2000 years ago.
This was our first year going and I was blown away.
Absolutely amazing. A total transformation.
And Sydaleigh had so much fun.

upstairs, right outside the market place-the Nativity scene, complete with a real newborn
baby too.

animals downstairs, on the outskirts of Bethlehem-Sydaleigh not brave enough to try the
goat milk

thinking about petting the really big sheep

getting our coins for the marketplace and being counted for the census

getting a head wrap like the Sheppard's wear, and sifting wheat

making a basket and a bracelet

all the girls playing with clay, Marvelly (looking really cute in her pig tails)

Roman guards at the entrance to the 'city', and some vendors

cool cool cool. my quick pictures didn't do the whole scene justice. It was a "you have to see this" kind of thing. There was so much stuff to do I can't even name it all. It was cool. Cool cool cool.
