A fun hobby....

We asked a friend returning to Burkina from the States last year if he wouldn't mind bringing a bow and arrow back with him for us to give to Sydaleigh. And he so graciously did. Sydaleigh had a growing interest in shooting and had previously been using the cheapo Dollar Tree suction cup ones that fall apart after one use, so she was super thrilled when she got this. And she's pretty good at it. It's a beginner bow, so it's not too hard to pull back and the arrow tips are rounded, but still, you get some good power on this thing and she has punctured her fair share of cardboard boxes around the yard!

She LOVES to shoot. It's turning into a favorite hobby of hers. Every weekend she's in the back yard practicing. I find her up in this tree a lot. A little Katniss in the making. =)

Of course, we've had our fair share of shooting contests....of course. Everything is competitive with us. =)

Between Sydaleigh's bow and arrow and Isaak's airsoft gun.....the lizards and bats in our yard are always on the run!
