Come on in...

It's good to be home, even though....

when we arrived back home...

-all the lights in all the bedrooms and our bathroom are broken. The wiring got fried while we were away so we've been in the dark all week, and all through the weekend now.

-there is no hot water running to our shower

-our toilet is broken and leaking gobs of water out onto the floor.

-the living room a.c. unit had been leaking for days and completely soaked our living room carpet

-there was a new leak in our bedroom ceiling that is growing more black and mildew like every time it rains

-there was also a new leak in the kitchen ceiling, that at least is only in the orange stage of water damage right now

The ceilings won't be fixed until the end of rainy season, so we'll just have to deal with the drippy mess and smell of mold for a while.
Workers have come by to fix our toilet three times already, and it is worse now than before, so I don't have high hopes for the swimming pool on our bathroom floor to go away any time soon.
No clue what is up with our water heater
Workers came by this afternoon to fix all the lights, as they were leaving they told me they worked, after they left I went to turn them on....and not a single one turned on.

Yup, that's about right.

I mean...it wouldn't be life in Burkina if something wasn't breaking, leaking, or electrocuting you.

Home sweet home. =)
