Still can't believe it!!!

Taddaaaaaaaa!!!!!
Last night I bought this. I bought THIS!!!!!!! A Pentax K200D. I'm like giddy all over, I can't even believe it. Isaak has been trying to convince me forever to truly make the jump to digital and buy a nice DSLR camera. I have been so reluctant for so many reasons...most importantly I was trained in a darkroom with wet film and that's what I love. I've studied digital but to me, it hasn't even come close to comparing to a traditional SLR and the darkroom experience. Not to mention the fact that nice DSLR's are expensive...and we all know how cheap I am. But, I've slowly been coming around, especially since SLR's, darkrooms, chemicals, ect. are all becoming obsolete. Ughhhh.
I've been doing research for a while, with Isaak's help. I've been reading reviews, comparing all different models of cameras, going over specifications, and finally narrowed it down to two, the Nikon D40 or the Niko D60. Couldn't make up my mind, had no peace really about either one of them, even though I narrowed it down to them...and then Isaak started researching the Pentax in comparison with the rest. Oh my gosh, it's amazing!!! Instant peace ( and that is rare when I'm thinking of making a big purchase,) AND I found one on sale brand new through Amazon, AND the best part is that it is compatible with all my existing lenses for my old SLR Pentax. SWEEEEEET! Getting a great DSLR and getting to continue to make use of my current lenses and filters, I have the best of both worlds! I am so stoked!!
This camera is the bomb- it was a total God thing how everything came together.
Awesome awesome awesome.

So that explains it

Turns out- Marvelly is awake because she was allowed to take a hearty nap when I ran to the store for an hour to run some errands.
Which was right before bed.
Yup, allowed to take a nap before bed.
Nice.
It's currently 10:40 and I'm still not sleeping because now Marvelly, and he who will remain nameless, are having a laugh fest downstairs.
Usually hearing Marvelly belly laugh brings me warm happy feelings-not so much the case at 10:45.
Why???!!!!!
Why is the whole world against me???!!!!!!
( I tend to get really dramatic when I'm delirious from lack of sleep-don't mind me.)
Why?!?!?!?!?!?

Why tonight?!

Ahhhhh.
It always happens on the nights that I really want to go to sleep.
I want to go to sleep because I didn't get much sleep the night before.
( due to Sydaleigh and a thunderstorm that wouldn't end.)
And sure enough, because I want to go to sleep, because I'm tired, Marvelly decides to make it a late night.
It's 10:05. She's still awake. Has eaten 50 million times. And forcefully wakes herself up every time she starts nodding off.
She knows.
She knows I want to be done for the night and she's hanging on to spite me.
Okay, maybe not, but it feels like that right about now.
Humpf.

My girls

I always said one of the main reasons I wanted to have another baby was so that my first "baby" would have someone...someone to play with, to laugh with, tell secrets to, have a permanent slumber party with, someone to put up with Mom and Dad with you, someone to go through and experience life with. I've given that to them. Everything is worth it when I see these pictures and live these moments with my girls. I praise God that he enabled me to give them to each other.
What beautiful sisters they make...

Three girls and a spider

Oh-my-gosh...
We went outside this morning to eat our morning snack, as usual.
Marvelly was on my lap on the bench, and Sydaleigh was sitting at her little table and chairs. Next thing I know I look over at Sydaleigh and see this ENORMOUS spider crawling on her head in her hair (this didn't look like no daddy long legs either!)....AHHHHHH!
Uhhh, what do i do????!!!! What do I do????
I lay Marvelly down on the bench and tell Sydaleigh to stand very still....which of course alerted her that something was wrong.
She started freaking out.
I started freaking out.
The spider started freaking out and walking all over her.
Marvelly even started sympathy crying-she could sense we were being attacked by a spider.
Brrr. Gives me the heeby jeebies just thinking about it again.
It was truly terrible.
I tried flicking it off with my finger but it eventually fell off ( or jumped since it was probably just as scared by us).
We were both screaming like a bunch of girls and jumping around doing the, "get it off, get it off," dance.
I know I'm supposed to be the big strong not scared of anything Mom to my girls-but spiders don't count-sorry-that's what Daddy's are for.

Fun 4th

HAPPY 4TH of JULY!!What a great way to start a long weekend!
We had a no stress, super fun 4th, with fun company,
perfect weather, well behaved kids ( can you believe it!),
good food (especially the grilled corn on the cob, yum!), and the
best part is we got to watch the fireworks from our backyard
(no chaos, cars, or swarms of people)
Syd the kid hanging with some new buds she made.
watching the fireworks in our yard. (way less scary for a two year old)
I tried to take a picture but of course the fireworks
didn't show up-but we have a great view, honestly,
despite the crappy picture.

Marvelly was sleeping by this point, which is why
she's not pictured, but she had a good time at the BBQ.

sweet relief

Finally, after 5 days of not being able to hear I went to the Dr. and got my ear fixed. (I'll leave out the details).

But hooray!!

Ya know, there's just something about not being able to hear that just throws everything off for me. When I can't hear, I notice that my sense of smell diminishes. So then I can't hear or smell. When I'm not wearing contacts or glasses, my sense of hearing seems to go too. Weird.

I've always been told that when one sense weakens, your other senses kick in...not exactly the case with me.

Anyhoo, happy to be back to my old hearing and smelling self again.

You play a vocab matching game, and for every correct answer they donate 20 grains of rice to the UN World Food Program.
So easy and good for the brain!

Fit Fun

Yes, Isaak did come home with a Wii Fit on Sunday,
and yes, it is SO MUCH FUN!
Oh my gosh, we absolutely love it.
We play together every night after the girls go to bed.
And this has been a great way for me and Isaak to have some fun,
laugh together, play together, goof around, spend time together period,
and get in some exercise while we're at it. We needed this.
Really every married couple needs this. And when I say this,
I don't mean the 'Fit', but something that they can do together just for fun.
To not have to be, "I'm a serious grown up" all the time.
Now Isaak wants to take up yoga because he likes doing it s-o-o-o much on the 'Fit'.
I know-he reads GQ, loves fashion, sews, likes doing yoga-
I never know what he's going to surprise me with next. :)
This would be me doing the Hula Hoop
oh yeah, breakin' it down!
And this would be Isaak-doing the Hula Hoop...
...and now catching a hoop ( he he he )
doing a lung...

...and hurting afterwards because lunges are hard.
